These three intact versatile hunting companions are members of our family that enjoy vacations with us at the beaches and mountains across our land.

They also know what happens when the hunting boots and shotgun cases are removed from the closet.

Tucker and Tito are currently offered for stud to approved females. Live cover and collection for artificial insemination are available.

Get to Know Us

Slosheye Trail Gundogs is owned by Matt Morgan and Robin Chandler-Morgan. We attended Georgia Southwestern State University and met while obtaining our undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Matt went on to pursue his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia while Robin earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry.  We were married and returned to Southwest Georgia to make our home and pursue our passion for hunting and bird dogs.

We both grew up in rural areas on family farms.  Hunting was always a pastime and tradition that has been continued and loved.  Our first hunting dog as a couple was a Pudelpointer named Gus, Foothills Captain Augustus Morgan.  Gus was a very capable dog with plenty of natural hunting ability.  Gus opened up an entirely new world of upland hunting pursuits and waterfowl as well.  Gus also introduced us to NAVHDA.  We drove 6 plus hours to test Gus in the Palmetto Chapter Natural Ability Test, we had never been to a training day or seen more than the Green Book from our NAVHDA registration and website descriptions of the test day's events.  A couple, their dog and a casserole for the pot luck dinner is what we showed up with in Lake Whales, FL.  Later that Saturday we all walked away with a Prize 1 108, we were so proud.  A great journey had begun.

Gus was the beginning, our current family includes our three dogs shown above.  Syrus, Tito and Tucker have been tested in the NAVHDA and HRC testing systems. They have also been hunted in multiple states for all types of wild upland game and waterfowl. Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Illinois, North and South Dakota are the states we've spent time afield. From September to March you can find us somewhere in a field or marsh.

We proudly support and are active in the Mid South and Chattahoochee NAVHDA Chapters as well as the SOWEGA HRC Chapter. Conservation is also something that we pride ourselves as being stewards towards the future. Ducks Unlimited, Quail and Pheasants Forever and the National Wild Turkey Federation all garner our support.

The North American Pudelpointer Society is also an organization that we support and are actively involved.  Matt has been the NAPS Swag Manager since 2020 and a Board Member since 2021. We believe the mission of NAPS aligns with our thoughts in protecting the Pudelpointer as a breed.  We are also members of the Bracco Italiano Club of America.

Our home and farm is located just south of Americus, GA and is managed for doves, ducks, quail, turkey, deer and other wildlife. Hunting is one of our most fond pursuits.  We also utilize this area for dog training and exposure for our personal dogs and friend's dogs.  Our family has grown to include a daughter Scarlett who is 10. Scarlett accompanies us on many trips to the woods and loves our dogs dearly.
